Over the past 25 years the Hyde Community Center has been the Heart of the Highlands, sponsoring countless neighborhood programs and events. We have supported Newton Highlands and neighboring villages with drop-in basketball and volleyball, Toddler Gym Fun, Family Gym Night, San Chin for Seniors, community dinners, movies, Red Sox games, concerts, the annual Halloween party and Haunted House, a new afterschool program and Newton Highlands Village Day. The majority of these programs and events have been provided free of charge.

After decades of serving the Highlands, our building needs two significant upgrades. Our roof and heating units were installed when the Newton Highlands COmmunity Development Corp (NHCDC) started the Hyde Community Center as a non-profit corporation in the early 1980s. They are showing their wear and we need to raise $50,000 for their replacement.

Newton Roofing (617-244-9901) has made a generous and significant contribution. They will donate all of their labor when we replace our roof. Newton Roofing understands the positive impact the Hyde Center has on the community and we ask residents to support this wonderful company.

Over the next twelve months we will be asking Hyde neighbors to contribute to our building fund. A donation of $50, $100 or more (or less) will be greatly appreciated and benefit the upgrade of our building.

The NHCDC is a private, non-profit corporation and has not asked for Hyde Center donations for well over 20 years. During that time, the Hyde Community Center has been making a difference in the community and now is the time for you to make a difference at the Hyde.
