Some of you met Helen at the WinterFEST Soup Social at the end of January, where former Executive Director John Rice introduced her as the interim executive director. I am delighted that today, on behalf of the Hyde Board of Directors, I can announce that Helen is officially the new Hyde Center Executive Director. Over the past three months, Helen has spent considerable time with John, learning about Hyde operations—including fundraising, programming, marketing, and facility maintenance—and meeting the Hyde’s valued community partners, including leadership at TECO (Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston), which rents office space from the Hyde, and The Village Bank, the Hyde’s largest corporate sponsor. Our sincere thanks to John for ensuring this smooth leadership transition. Helen has also been busy curating the 2026 Summer in the Highlands concert and movie lineup, which will be announced in May. She will attend these Friday evening events all summer long and looks forward to meeting many more members of our community. Please say hello if you see her at the Hyde! Rentals of the Hyde gym continue on pace, and since Senior Center programming has moved to the new Cooper Center for Active Living, we can accommodate more programs and event rentals.
