Get Ready for Summer in the Highlands!
The Hyde Community Center is excited to announce the 2026 lineup for our annual summer series featuring concerts, movies, theater productions, and cultural celebrations. Please join us Friday evenings (with a few exceptions as noted below) to enjoy a wide range of free, family-friendly events at the Hyde Bandstand.
All listed events take place outside on the Hyde Bandstand and Playground. Unless otherwise noted, concerts begin at 6PM, and movies start around dusk. In case of rain, Friday concerts and movies will move into the Hyde Gym.
May 30 — (Saturday) 11AM — Newton Rotary’s Dog Fest & Parade
June 5 — 4PM — Klezmer in the Park (part of the Boston Festival of New Jewish Music)
June 12 — The Reminisants | Freakier Friday
June 18 — at dusk — Movie at the Lake: Back to the Future (adjacent to Crystal Lake beach)
June 19 — Juneteenth Celebration (3PM) | Concert: The GRV (6PM) | Movie: Black Panther (at dusk)
June 26 — Studio Two: The Beatles Before America* | Groundhog Day

July 3 — Independence Day Weekend | No concert or movie

July 30 — (Thursday) 7PM — Shakespeare in the Playground | The World’s A Stage Players present “Romeo and Juliet”
July 31 — The Black Velvet Band | Karate Kid
August 7 — Soft Touch Dance Band | Rear Window
August 14 — Boston Rock and Soul Revue | Encanto
August 16 — (Sunday) 4PM — India Day Celebration
August 21 — Monster Groove | Dog Man
August 28 — Martin and Kelly | Shrek
September 4 — Labor Day Weekend — No concert or movie
September 11 — Hurry Sundown | School of Rock
